winxp home came preloaded on my new dell. i should have gotten pro. i just learned that i can't share the entire hard drive contents over a network. for instance, even though i can now see a lot of the folders on the winxp machine from my other machine, i can't access them all (the programs folder being one example). winxp home even states that in one of its networking troubleshooters. i did not know that going into this file and print sharing project.
