TexasDude,

Do you see the pattern emerging?

From your USNWR article:

"The bin Laden unit at FBI headquarters rejected the OIA request, the two sources said, and the confidential informant did not travel to Afghanistan or meet with al Qaeda operatives; FBI officials therefore didn't do an "asset validation" of the informant, a routine but critical exercise to determine whether information from the source was reliable. The FBI had no comment."

AND, from other sources:

1) newsandviews4.tripod.com

Scroll down about 1/3 of the page to -

"Mystery of Disappearing al-Qaeda Soldiers - 27 November:

While US troops scour the mountains and caves for Osama bin Laden, the bulk of his al Qaeda army has also disappeared."
This offers some room for speculation about the senior leadership of al Queda. What is perfectly clear is that a deal was struck with the Pakistanis by our CIA to let a lot of the supposed enemies of America escape. That fact is inescapable.

2) eyespymag.com

Scrolling about halfway down, we come to this text:

"16 NOVEMBER: 6,000 AL-QAIDA WARRIORS TRAPPED IN KONDUZ

Intelligence sources say upto 20,000 Taliban and al-Qaida soldiers are trapped within the northern city of Konduz. Northern Alliance commanders say at least 6,000 of the troops belong to Osama bin-Laden’s network. These men were based in a huge training camp a few miles south of the city when hostilities began. The camp was an early target for USAF bombers thus the men, mostly from Chechnya, Pakistan, Xinjiang province in China, and other Middle East countries, fled to the city.

The CIA has learned that at least two helicopters belonging to Osama bin-Laden have been used since the city was besieged to move senior commanders and friends of bin-Laden out of the area."

<End Copy>

***************************************************
A Pattern begins to emerge. A very disturbing one. While the FBI chases skirts in N'orleans, the CIA allows Bin Laden to sneak out of town while they attend to their drug bidnesses. Rogue Nation? Sure is starting to look like it. Someone's sure got some 'splainin' to do....

Recent Christopher Hitchens piece(obliquely) on Ashcroft:

After all, in the National Cathedral after September 11 he was allowed in the presence of our country's elite to assert that all the murder victims were in paradise and happy to be there--a wild outburst of evil and stupidity that implicitly copies the fantasies of bin Laden. So there you have it: The country's senior Protestant(Billy Graham) is a gaping and mendacious anti-Jewish peasant; the leaders of official Jewry are cringingly yoked with him for the purpose of a disastrous crusade and meanwhile the cardinals are running a rape fiesta for twitchy "celibates." All official attention turns, meanwhile, upon the weird beliefs to be found in the Koran, which may be partly because the Attorney General himself is a tuneless, clueless, evangelical Confederate dunce.
