This was an interesting critique. I certainly believe education should be available to those who wish it. Communist countries are particularly bad at segregating children at an early age based on their perceived skills. Something to consider is that whether an individual is smart or dumb, everyone has to live in a world that has both.

The really stupid people are those who think that "gotchas" are meaningful. I remember one person making a big deal out of Reagan's failure to recognize his son Michael, after he had been away at boarding school a few months. It turned out that Reagan has very poor eyesight without his contacts, which he was not wearing on that occasion, and that Michael had grown in the interim. Put it in context, and the "gotcha" often becomes "ho- hum".........
