Undaunted by Ellison's refutation of their claim that Oracle would warn, bearish analysts complained that part of the reason might be Oracle's cost cutting and share buyback program. Obedient to their masters, Wall Street's lemmings vigorously sold what they had eagerly bought only hours earlier, and the rest of the tech issues followed ORCL down.

... I am revising my forecast for SUNW ... it will reach a low of 3 in October, 2002 before it turns north in a serious way ... the fundamental question, to me is, 'what are the prospects of SUNW ever getting to 20 or 30 again?' ... I think those chances are slim, at best ...
