I also bemoan the loss of the Crusader system.. Although expensive in the per unit basis, the fact a single vehicle is capable of "throwing" more firepower downrange than an entire battery of Paladins, and in a shorter period of time, it would likely become a major force multiplier.

There are two issues at stake here... Airpower over artillery.. Now what I suggest is that if they are unwilling to field Crusader, they should get off their heinies and field themselves 20-40 more Spectre gunships.. Because there was something wrong with the fact that US soldiers didn't have immediate access to suppressive artillery when they hit the ground in Anaconda.
