Then why is the moon pockmarked but not the earth? Does the atmosphere fry them rocks? It can't be 90% hit the ocean because we see way more moon pocks than could be hidden among our land masses.

Pretty soon, even the Aborigenes around you will laptop NOAA to know how to intercept, running on a mesoscale route. That's when they'll have laptops...

Till then you can fly safely anywhere, weatherwise that is, provided you avoid China airlines, Egyptair, Khaddafis airways and a few other ones I need not point out.
