I will be most interested to see jttmab's response. Or any other flaming liberal's for that matter. The slaves. I remember back in college when I took humanities, this flaming liberal instructor held up classical Greece as THE example to be followed, the acme for which other civilizations should strive, the epitome of civilized, liberal life. He never did mention that 90% of the population was enslaved. Or that those beautiful marble buildings were paid for by tribute from conquered cities.
