hmmm...I'll have to give this some more consideration, but its a little dim and thin at this time. Maybe if I actually light this lamp I'm holding things would become clearer.

"Anyway, we do not establish our habits purely on moral principles, but are also affected by other prudential considerations and extenuating circumstances. Well, this is why I think it is a little analogous to the ring. Another comparison that can be made is: There was an interesting phenomenon in the old south. There were white share croppers who were virtually on the same economic footing as black slaves. They had black friends and associated more with slaves than plantation aristocracy. But they would defend the institution of slavery. Why? because the potential, even though remote was there for them to succeed economically with the plantation system. This attraction to the karrot of economic prosperity kept them from considering other more humane obligations and championing them. There are tales of streets paved in gold along the Internet super highway. There is the ability to traffic into locker rooms undetected. There is also tremendous greed, laciviousness, and corruption being promoted via this medium. T'is my contention that the average citizen doesn't want any of it touched while the golden opertunities may still be available.
