Voluntary Reform ----- Merrill announces today that no longer will analysts get paid on Inv. Banking business.

Actually, Merrill said that investment banking wouldn't have input on analyst compensation. In any event, it doesn't matter much because most high-profile analysts work under guaranteed contracts not unlike pro athletes.

Also going to a simplified rating system of BUY --- SELL---NEUTRAL with price targets on all.

Actually, Merrill said that all BUY-rated stocks would have targets.
