That is the point!

The ROBOCS, without long distance companies and long haul networks, are at a distinct disadvantage compared to WCOM/MCI. How can they compete? Simple answer they can't. Plainly, here they are the dinasours with their antiquated switching networks.

One possible solution for them would be to ask the Government to now allow them access to the "high tech" LD "assets" of T, FON and MCI/WCOM at "cost"!

That would put them in an interesting position! LMAO!

RBOCs may roll out similar plan, but they have distinct disadvantage that they don't own nationwide network, they'll need companies such as WCOM to carry their traffic. They also have regulation issues to hurdle.
