MSI, I believe the analysis you've expressed, although interesting, is on the wrong track in some respects.

The degradation of values in American society can be traced to a movement which I call "anti-judeo-christianism". Or others call the rise of "radical secularism".

Little by little, year after year, those united behind a secular agenda have succeeded in imposing countless changes on Americans and they've used the liberal leaning supreme court to impose their will, when they knew the American culture would not accept it. Three people stood out above others in this regard. Who were these three people? And what values did they insist upon sharing with us all. Madalyn Ohair's, Larry Flynt, and Norma McCorvey.

Madalyn Ohair's victory in 1963 to remove prayer from public schools changed us as a nation. But, few Americans know what a radical communist she was, after being refused time and time again to emigrate to the Soviet Union she began her crusade here. In her sons autobiography he depicts the kind of vision she had for america in this passage..."the only way true freedom can be achieved is through the new socialist man-an entire race that lives for the state. Only when all men know the truth of their animal sameness will we have true freedom".

Larry Flynt needs no introduction, a radical anti-judeo-christian, who's own daughter claims he raped repeatedly. This person is now hailed as a middle of the road Democrat who only values free speech. Yet, look at the filth he has perpetuated on our society. The left is proud of this secular pornographer. Heck, they even made a movie about him, which describes him as some sort of a hero.

Norma McCorvey, the true identity of Roe v. Wade. She now admits she was manipulated by others and profoundly regrets her part in the landmark abortion ruling.

Some will argue that it is simplistic to blame these three decisions on the increase in violence, pornography, teen-pregnancies and drug use over the past few decades. And I agree to a point, however, it is very plausible to contend that these decisions, combined with other factors was a ctaclysmic change, which helped lead to a lot of negative cultural shifts. Culture is like a blanket that surrounds and protects us as a society, when you pull on one strand, it can unravel the entire fabric and ultimately destroy the blankets cohesiveness.

What's also interesting to note about these three court decisions is that after nearly 40 years they still cause great conflict between large segments of our society. Perhaps the court was the wrong place for these cultural issues to be decided? The Supreme court has been wrong before, it's made up of nine human beings who make mistakes.

But the even tougher part is, even if you bought into the fact that these decisions caused great cultural negative upheavals, it doesn't lead us to a clear solution today. We can't simply turn back the clock, change causes other changes, and it would be wrong to assume overturning these decisions would bring about a return to the kind of values we admire.
