"Never underestimate youth to rebel against hi-tech and suddenly label those with cellular as uncool, buttoned down conformist. Youth be wildly fickle.
I put my bet on the table, wireless has no future other than that which tech-heads hype in their materialistic dead-end.

I didn't bother reading anymore of your post

Very soon I will drop Bellsouth service altogether. No need for a land line. Many folks are doing this. It makes sense. It saves money. My cellphone bill is cheaper than the land line, and I get free long distance and other features.

You are one wacked out dude living in your own little hibernated world I guess.

You apparently don't understand Youth ;) They will surely rebel...but they will also be plugged into their cell phones. They always (youth) find convenient rebellion. ;^)

They may go "off line", they may ignore many junk items, like Palm etc....but they only relbellion involving their umbilical cords (phones) will be color, headphones.....holder, holster...hands free....blah blah blah...

I don't mean to say this will translate into pricing...it most likely will do little, but i only mean to comment, that communication and the fear of being "out of the loop" or missing something, is to great for the young rebel to deal with. They will rebel over the phone lines. ;)

Interesting post max.
I tend to agree with most of what you say.
I do believe though that wireless is hear to stay.
Whether or not it can be profitable is another story.
My hunch though, over the long term, you are correct
it is a losing investment.

>>that parents have given up parenting, and the dumbing of america just gets worse. Max. p.s. yes, i believe children should be challenged to be curious, learn to learn that learning is fun, and remember their are books to read . I don't underestimate the ability of children to learn, but it, in most, it requires a teacher. <<

I can agree with that.

But as for youth rebelling, remember that the generation raised on cellular will be in their mid-twenties. The rebelling youth will be another fresh generation.

Cellular/wireless is in its corrective & consolidation phase. It may never boom like before but it has a distinct future, imo.
