Good morning X,

re: <. Desensitization works. I do not like the idea of a population totally desensitized to violence.>>

I agree wholeheartedly on this.. And coupled with this is the idea that violence is usually used as a way to solve problems. From an individual to a societal level.. (I have discussed this in the past here.. but it is an very important issue IMO, Much more than sexually explicit movies, art etc.. The "good guys" win and solve too much through violence. Whether it is in a video game, animation or science fiction etc.. This leads to what I call a "Columbine syndrome"

A child takes violence to the extreme to solve his problem of being a "societal loser"(for the want of a better word. I really don't mean loser, but he is in his and his peers eyes. But that's another topic.)

Anyway, he has been taught from parents to MOVIES to real life in newspapers, etc.. to be a MAN, Solve his problem.. and take matters into is own hands. . And sometimes with tragic results, he does..
