This new ADC campaign sets out to restore their history and humanity, to show them (as they have always been) as people "like us," fighting for the right to live in freedom, to raise their children, to die in peace. Once even the glimmerings of this story penetrate the American consciousness, the truth will, I hope, begin to dissipate the vast cloud of evil propaganda with which Israel has covered reality. Since it is clear that the media campaign can only go so far, then the hope is that Arab Americans will feel empowered enough to enter the political battle in the US to try to break, modify, or fray the link that binds US policy so tightly to Israel. BTW the Arab propaganda is mainly directed toward the attempts to convince USA public opinion that all US trouble with Muslim World is because of US support for Israel...Yet removed from Arab-Israli conflict the Arab Regimes are even more ridiculous..So it could have been more effective if not for the reality of what Arab World has become...and there is just no escape from that reality...So what Said considers the crime, is well grasped by Arabs in power, but not by Said-that is any attempt to "manufacture" New Coke Arab image in USA is futile without real change... Said could have argued that Arabs would gain so much support in US if they would start to self-examining their Societies, move toward Democracy and non-violence...But no-the fault is with Propaganda not Pathetic State of Affairs in the Arab World...
