I think it will take them some more time before they realize that this is not a fight against Islam. Instead it is a fight against the extreme brand of Islam, that it is a fight against the deliberate misinterpretaion of the Prophet's teachings to gain personal advantage etc. etc. As I have said on this thread earlier, the Prophet has said that he derived his inspiration from Christ and Moses and their teachings. It will be difficult to find reference for that, but give me some time and I will come out with those. The problem is that the Osamas want to deliberately suppress that. Though I haven't tried yet, but any Center for Islamic Studies will be in a position to verify or deny that.
