Stupid is as Stupid Does.

That pretty much sums up the Israeli and Palestinian conflict in the Middle East. You will need Adobe Acrobat to access this pdf file.

<The war process between Israelis and Palestinians has achieved what the peace process failed to deliver. Unspeakable violence for 21 months>

What unspeakable violence? Memories are short. Here is unspeakable violence: stokesey.demon.co.uk

61 million in about 5 years beats a dozen in a pizza parlour and three, or was it 5, accidental killings in Jenin, even with WTC on the side. The current murders are a detail of history. Come to think of it, so are the 61 million. There have been about 2 billion people die in the last century. There will be 6 billion die in the next 50 years or so.

History is a lot bigger than the belligerence between some murderous religious zealots in the middle east. History doesn't just happen with a bang. The big history is made quietly, with mothers choosing fathers and their offspring creating things like contraceptives, cyberspace, relativity understanding, CDMA, CDNA, rinse, repeat.

Noisy bullies like the tanks, planes, bangs and the fancy hats, the perquisites of office and obsequious acolytes. Fortunately, they often end up dead in a bunker, like Adolf. Saddam doesn't care. He's having fun while it lasts. A bit like Mike Tyson, Gerry Adams and Arafat. They are details of history.

Meanwhile, around the world, women are pushing their prams.
