Gore Urges Wisconsin Democrats to Focus on Gubernatorial Race

MADISON, Wis. — Don't get mad, get elected, former Vice President Al Gore counseled Wisconsin Democrats on Saturday.

"Think about how you felt the morning after the Supreme Court decision in December," Gore told delegates at the state Democratic convention. "Take that feeling you have inside and use it."

Gore won Wisconsin's 11 electoral votes in 2000 by narrowly defeating President Bush by 6,000 votes. But the election came down to Florida, where disputes over the election outcome led to a ballot recount that was eventually stopped by the Supreme Court. Gore conceded the next day.

"When I thank you for carrying this state, I know what went into that," Gore said. "A lot of shoulders to the wheel, a lot of hard work, a lot of enthusiasm. We need that same commitment this year."

Gore's message played well among delegates, who booed when he mentioned Republican Gov. Scott McCallum. Four Democrats are seeking the nomination to face McCallum in November.

"How long have you had a Republican governor? Twelve years?" Gore asked. "Sixteen," they shouted back.

How about religious beliefs that involve piercing the skin of your back with a sharp bone and suspending your body on them from the rafters with rawhide strings? Would that be an appropriate course of study for our kids? It sure as heck affected the development of this country.

...As a failed religious principle.

Let's get real. We want kids to learn how to live in today's world, not the one died.

Charles by the nature or your proffer you don't have a clue in total. First the Ten Commandments are from Judaism and not Christianity. And even Islam is an evolution of Judaism and Christianity. But Judeo Christian beliefs were the guiding principles of American in the formation of laws and as the overwhelming religions of America during it first 200 years. Understanding Judeo Christian beliefs is fundamental to understanding how America evolved.
