Well, if you want to delve into the history of Christianity, I'm not sure you're going to find a lot of support for Christianity as a tolerant religion. Between driving the Jews into Palestine (where they found santuary amongst the Muslims), the Crusades, the Hundred Years War, etc etc, Christianity does not have a long history of religious tolerance.

Of course, throughout history, a lot of Christians did not follow the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
