Zeev,

A justified war on national preservation? Now, that's a reach by any means. This is not an existential war. Now, in your mind you might think so but the facts state otherwise. This is war for security by Israel. It is a war to define her national sovereignty (i.e. how she may respond to terrorism). Israel's immediate destruction is not an issue.

The Arabs are not in a position to invade Israel any time soon. There isn't a military build-up of Arab troops along the Israeli border. The Israeli have the nuclear Samson option and the most advanced military equipment on the face of the planet. The Israelis have the support of the United States. The Israelis are the occupier and the conqueror, not the conquered.

I don't have a problem with Israel's war against terror. Israel's continuing occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip is a political nightmare and a self-inflicted wound. It is a drain on Israel's resources to protect these settlements and detracts against her war on terrorism and security. The Israeli vision of a Greater Israel is extremist.
