Ground Zero, EU stands for European Union. I do not agree with what you say. There is Palestine, Israel had recognized it by declaring its borders prior to 1967. So it may be OK with some to say that Arafat does not exist. But we have to be really careful with Palestine does not exist. What do you think was the reason Lenin was successful in 1917. What was the reason that Communism in Russia fell after all those years. In both cases it was the power of the people. It is a movement. You can extend the same reasoning to the fall of colonialism starting with India and spreading to the African countries. No amount of military repression can subdue the power of the people. The Palestenian movement is also a movement of the people. The founding of the Israeli nation is also a movement of the people. When these groups of people realize that hey need to have their own nation they will come to the peace table. If not those Jewish settlers in Palestenian lands will never be able to live in peace. Israel will have to spend a huge sum to maintian their "colony" in the West bank. And when the financial pressures increase, they will finally see the wisdom of peace. One of the key resons tthe British started abandoning their colonies was the devastating blow they suffered from WWII. Their finances were so exhausted that they could no longer sustain their colonies and contain the unrest of the people in their colonies. Just my 2 cents.
