goldworldnet,

Re: but many of these people are not afraid of nuclear war and welcome it as a new beginning where the modern world has been destroyed.

This applies equally to the crazy Christian fundamentalists who've lately taken to rabid support for Israel because of some lunatic notion about advancing the Second Coming of Christ. Reading their screeds is an eye-opener. You have to wonder how we can have such a massive failure in the American education system as to create these Creationist cretins.

My fear is that unlimited first-strikes that involve civilians will backfire, and cause the Crusades to rekindle.

We have to take the high road, whatever that is at this point.

I do think the Bush Doctrine and secrecy leaves us open to a never-ending situation. We can't destroy millions of people, innocent or guilty. That's not the American way. That's the Russian or Nazi way. Maybe that's what Ashcroft is doing in Moscow, taking lessons.

Defense of our homeland is the first priority, we should have had block captains and get-to-know-your-neighbor policies since Sept 12th. This administration has other priorities. War first, defense later, is the message. A giant target on every American, as the war machine kicks in doors around the world, is acceptable, and no evidence is necessary.

That's why I have a bad feeling about the secrecy surrounding Bush et al, I suspect they are profiteers, unless they open the books for someone to take a look.
