SAN JOSE -- Novellus Systems Inc. here has reportedly won a major $35 million order for its 300-mm tools from Texas Instruments Inc., according to a report from Prudential Securities Inc.

“Our field checks indicate Novellus could have received new orders from TI for its DMOS 6 300-mm fab,” according to the report from the New York-based investment banking firm. “Our checks also suggest TI is pulling in tool deliveries as DMOS 6 0.13-micron qualification is near completion and product shipment could have started,” the report said.

The tool orders include Novellus' Vector PECVD and photoresist strip tools, according to the report. The photoresist strip tools come from Gasonics International Corp., which was acquired by Novellus for $347 million last October, it added.
