Furthermore, I think comparing INTC to VTSS is an apples to oranges situation.

This is true. However, the market often treats VTSS as a regular semiconductor company (which they are not) and takes them down with the other semis (which in the past has created some buying opportunities when the semis are hurting and vtss is fine)

Hoping this is a buying opportunity and not a death knell! (though I have no money to buy more...)

It may be worth recalling INTC traded below $4 a share in 1994.

Note a monthly chart for INTC's history.

There's a lot of air below the current price.

You've got to compare INTC to VTSS in the context of INTC being the bellweather technology company in the chip sector. So goes INTC, so goes the chips (which are quite fishy smelling right about now!!). Still think INTC can head below 18. Today we had a technical rally on a VERY oversold situation on the DAQ. Tomorrow and Friday should prove interesting. These are VERY scary times to invest in, PERIOD!!!!!
