Good evening X,

Tonight I have a comment on the "The New Yorker" .. I commented last week on "Sunset".. A western magazine.. Tonight the east catches Hell from a dyed in the wool westerner, more fun.. just kidding.. But I am an equal opportunity magazine critic..

Anyway about the NYer, I have noticed this for awhile.., From their magazine as manifested by their cover, cartoons and many of their features, I either get a sense of "rage" or malaise.. Rage against each other as in family, husband/wife, family situations in the way of "put down humor or outright anger.. Rage in the streets..Or frowning people contending with whatever,,etc..

Or malaise, as pure acceptence of the current condition,,
unhappily sleepwalking through life..

I don't like either .. Life is better than that.. Even with it's many tragic road bumps..

Like last night with our beautiful young company, our mid-twenties niece and her wonderful husband, that were vacationing at Tahoe. As we talked and laughed and drank good wine with Mary's great pasta dinner...

It was so much fun,
