You think they actually went long or just covered the short positions?

The commercials have been heavily short the NDX for ages, it makes complete sense to cover at the lows today. I sure did. But I didn't go long for more than a scalp, so I'd love to see the COT numbers when they come out for this week, to see if they actually went long - to hold.

Tomorrow will be telling, and a bunch of economic numbers are out, starting at 8:30 am. Good or bad, the reaction of the market will definitely give us a clue if any up move can hold. If they sell a good number, watch out.

If the bounce lasts past noon, it will break a record for recent rallies <g>

I'm going to be gone most of tomorrow and Friday but will be peeking at the action when I can!

And next week, with my son finally out of school (!) we're going on vacation...

so I'm going to miss a lot of the fun <g>

good luck everyone!

Great chart by Jorj highlighting the monthly options expiration ramps.

This sure puts to rest ANY thoughts that there is commonly manipulation into expiry huh? <vbg> Also points out that after options Friday, interesting moves always seem to happen. KLUNK.

The month that the NDX does not tank after options expiry, we will be able to have faith in the upside again for more than a day or two.
