I just thought of what the TOU on SI are like. There's an old movie, a classic I think, I'm not remembering the name, but one theme of the film is that this poor family, the mother of which had blond braids across her head, has a "bank account," and that bank account keeps the children feeling secure and safe

I Remember Mama

That's the name of it...

so there was this bank account that they always talked about when they needed money, they knew they could dip into it if they needed to, but they never did spend the money, they got along as best they could without doing that; they just very much liked knowing it was there; and then when the children grew up, it turned out that there had never been any bank account at all.

That's the TOU. It's a myth, like that bank account.

Jewel, how was that? I've been noticing your parables....

The TOU are still in force- perhaps you just don't happen to like how they are enforced (or not enforced) all the time. I have seen offending posts removed, and recently. I do not always agree with the enforcement- but it is still there.

I am so glad you put your two cents in though. It is always such a pleasure.
