Dashing in and out is what daytraders do. If they have the capital to profit off small gains in a bear mkt, it can work. I don't think all the board participants trade every call, nor even close.

I follow Zeev's market trends more than specific stock calls. If it has been useful to me, and apparently, to others, I/we will pay attention and try to benefit from his advice.

That's common sense, not sycophancy.

Do you think most folks will toss around large sums of cash on a whim? I don't. Nor will they jump if Zeev said jump. They will glean what they can if it makes sense. And if it makes money they'll glean more.

I don't think you draw the "dirty work" of "minions" because you disagree with Zeev. You draw fire from ordinary folks who object to the tone of your posts. It's the tone that's abusive in a forum that prefers friedly behavior.

Name calling doesn't contribute anything, for example. How do you expect to persuade with such a hostile approach? And why bother?

Jim, just curious but why do you care about Zeev and his posts so much. I'm mostly a lurker and have read posts from hundreds of people. The posters that make sense to me I continue to read or bookmark. The ones that don't I don't read or put on ignore.

Zeev happens to be one I read. I think I've read the vast majority of his posts over the last 9 months and find his comments to be quite clear and consistent. Sometimes he's right on his market calls and sometimes he's wrong but on average his track record is better than most. On his day trading methods, I have founnd that his description of his methodology is not completely transparent, but then if I was as successful as Zeev on daytrading, I wouldn't tell the world exactly how I made my calls.

Just click that "ignore" button if he bothers you.

Tom

Jim,

How about this : take each turnip call as a decision tree with defined exit-entry decision points to match against your own plan. Each trade is basically a test of those scenarios to see which unfolds. You do not have to win every trade, but we cannot let a few bad trades drag us down.

I doubt if the turnips are clairvoyant, but they seem to work better than anything else I've looked at. When they cease to work, then there's always something else.

The glitch in all of this is the nimbleness factor in that many are not able to trade as frequently or as widely as Zeev, which means not everyone should do the same thing he does.

Fwiw, I would never average down the way Zeev does, but I watched his turnip calls for almost two years and their track record is good. Doesn't make me do the same trades.

I think Zeev is a good guy, or perhaps I am not as intelligent as you are, Jim.

There's no need to insult everyone you disagree with. Here's something to keep you warm on cold nights. <g>

The Steve Miller Band once recorded a song called, "Your Cash is Nothing but Trash." I think it is possible that title could have been shortened by a word. What do you think, Cash?
