Welcome to Pakistan, a nation at piece A nation of milk, honey and tranquillity Dawn.com Over 13,500 foreigners left Karachi since May 8 By Tahir Siddiqui KARACHI, June 15: Over 300 foreigners left the country on Saturday by 19 international flights from the Quaid-i-Azam International Airport, in the aftermath of Friday's car-bomb attack near the US Consulate here which left 10 dead and many injured, sources in the immigration and airline offices said They said, over 1,450 Pakistanis, most of them holding dual nationalities, also left for other countries on Saturday. The sources said that about 13,500 foreigners, including 8,000 Europeans and Americans, have left Pakistan since May 8. Others nationalities included: 393 Frenchmen; 3,370 Britons; 1,910 Americans; 980 Canadians; 238 Japanese; 385 Germans; 169 Dutch; 156 Italians; 75 Austrians; 74 Swiss; 70 Russians; 37 Belgians; 150 Australian; 89 South Africans; 2,910 Bangladeshis; 950 Afghans; 400 Chinese; 240 Iranians; 55 Filipinos; 45 Indians; 17 Indonesians; 5 Brazilians; 920 Gulf countries. The sources further said that the number of foreigners living in Karachi had been on the decline since September 11. But many more have started to leave following the May 8 attack on the bus carrying Frenchmen, they added.
