MD: As a person who has been the beneficiary of the success of both companies I don't see this a zero sum deal. ORCL has its niche but unfortunately MSFT is slowly isolating that niche by bringing the cost of data base maintenance and connectivity to the net down every year. All LE has done is to whine rather than develop competitive products that reach down in the food chain of data bases. Their efforts in the app field will be rewarded as they are integrated ala MSFT into 9i but we don't hear MSFT complaining about what ORCL does. I don't see a company that is as solid as MSFT is dangerous to anyone. They have created more third party developer millionaires than any other company in the world.JFD
