Hi Dave,

The Pelican statue was a standing joke when I was in town. The artist, from Outside, hadn't a clue that just because there was a village in SE called Pelican that the birds never came within a couple thousand miles. It was a lot more kindly ridiculed that that other abomination you mentioned. I'll have to drag up from memory what we called that POS.

Public art is good. Quality control is even better. :)
