you assume most hits batesmen are intentional - i think therein lies your error - some certainly are but most are "purpose pitches" gone astray as far as golf goes, I do think it would be more interesting if fans can yell while players hit - that would be funny (I believe pro bowling actually changed their rules to allow fans more participation) my point about basketball is that it still aint all that easy to get the ball in the basket, even with the size of todays players - you would change the rules due to one player?
