Hello, Carl

Not my point at all. The article about the might of the US was a bit flawed, in my estimation, because it did not consider the point made by the Palestinian H-bomb article, i.e., that no matter how mighty a nation might be in a conventional military sense, there are lots of cheap and effective ways to counter conventional military might, particularly if the opponent is not too concerned with killing civilians or has no intention of stupidly engaging the hegemonic power in any conventional sense.

Vietnam redux, in other words.

If we occupied a foreign country filled with a numerous people who hate us for 50 years, we'd be getting suicide bombers too, and wondering why our military couldn't win anybody's hearts and minds

We did do that, Carl. But for some reason, the Sioux and Arapaho and the Navaho have not chosen to go that route.
