And then we have the theory that there was no Deep Throat I find that plausible although not nearly as appealing to the curiosity. I never followed Watergate all that closely. I have always preferred not to think too much about scandals. But my sense at the time was that DT was a wizened veteran so I expected him to be dead or close to it by now and Woodward said that he'd tell once DT was dead. All of that makes it seem reasonable that DT was either a composite or an invention since he hasn't "died" yet. It just doesn't seem like it should be someone as young as Buchanan, although I do think that he's the sort of guy who might do something like that.
