Panchyshyn Read Replies (1) | Respond to of 11633 I was aware of this one issuing warrants in the past, I assume(yes thats all) that somewhere else others have also, why not there are several hundred(yes check Barrons)... ----- It would have been better if you had supplied some references/links to this so all could easily verify. For the moment I will take this peice as a "fact". So this one of yours has done one issue in the past (???). You assume that the others have also. And tell everyone to check. Isn't it customary for the person who brings up the "statement" also bring up some supporting evidence. In a debate its not customary for one side to say "what I say is TRUE but if you want to know well I don't have any specific references of that so look it up yourself" Now how far in a debate would that person get saying that????? Now as for comparison purposes we have you saying one closed end fund has done one in the past, there are many thousands of closed end funds and some of those have probably done it as well. Now compare that to SDT ( a single trust of trusts) which has done one each year for the past three years sentryselect.com and more prior to that. And each one of those has made the SAME unitholder the SAME great returns. As per my other recent post and from these past posts Message 13906053 Message 14359220 Message 15568314 Message 15552037 others if you would like So which comes out better for the individual to have the same one trust do the same thing over and over again with the same great results for that same individual. Or to say that in general for the masses one does it they probably all do it. And so as the same individual in the same trust gets this delivered to him the fees or "costs" pale in comparison. And that is the bottom line. ----------- I hold at least a dozen trusts, and no I'm not going to offer proof. ------ I don't have a problem with this statement. But for purposes of this discussion are your results/returns more than that of the trust of trusts? And for that I would need some proof. In regards to the "Economies of scale" point as per my last post with that many how are you able as an individual to take advantage of the lows when they present themselves (and then benefit from)? Just like the larger trust of trusts with their borrowing power , with their size, with their DRIP base adding new monies each month? HARDLY. Or are we to assume you are the worlds greatest trader who never makes a mistake. We have all heard that one before and he has yet to deliver on that.----------------- I think you are trying to say that Sentry Fund Management offers value to the small share holder, I don't have a problem with that. ------- As you yourself has said others offer value. I don't speak of value I speak of direct benefits. Monthly distributions, rights and warrants which consistently offer a premium and which the trading of, offer sizeable real gains. All going directly into the same individual unitholders pocket -------------- I'm not interested in buying it so I wouldn't study it, I'm just trying to point out that you should consider hidden costs(including rights issues). -------- And yet again bottom line is the benfits I speak of and show are real and go directly into the same unitholders pockets and they pale to the "costs" as I have clearly shown before which you just ignore ------------------- I've have heard many mutual funds salespeople say "Don't worry about fees, you are making money", the real guarentee is that the mutual fund salesperson and management are making money. The best one recently was a fund salesman saying to a large group of people No Load - 3% on average MER Front Load - 2% on average MER Rear Load - 1% on average MER's He only makes money if you make money, etc etc I know, I know, you are talking about a closed end fund, --------- I am talking of the trust of trusts which the original post was about. You sure like to do these apple to orange comparisons. Too bad that they just don't show what you say, for the likes of EIT or SDT. Never have never will. And that is what the real facts clearly show-------------- actually these are usually the only type I buy since I feel they are very good if you can buy at a deep discount to NAV.
