Ah, Those Lazy-Hazy-Crazy Days Of Summer ... In order to enjoy the soda and pretzels and beer and the girls in their bikinis, strong defensive measures are required to counter the negative forces of Nature .. for starters, a BB gun, a can of Off and an array of chemical pesticides ... :)

<<I wait all year for my time in the garden, for walks in the woods, and for reveling in the great outdoors. And then there are those critters, insects and birds that make your life less than pleasant. >>

It's called life. I can see every tree in my yard has added 6-10 inches this spring. I have two windows in my room and a striped sparrow nest under each window. The males stop at the windows to show me their catch.

It's been a wet year after a few years of dry. It's been like living in a jungle. Plant growth is rampant. Flowers choking out the weeds for a change. Old seeds finally starting to grow.

Neatest is the toads. They lay their eggs in the water gardens and we get toadlets out the ying yang. First generation has left the gardens and if you have a 17" monitor they are this size, 0. I quit mowing to let the little guys get out and going.
