DAEJEON, South Korea (AP) -- Before 40,000 roaring fans in a sea of red, South Korea looked finished at the World Cup. ADVERTISEMENT

The co-host had missed a penalty shot, surrendered a goal to three-time champion Italy and was just minutes from elimination.

Then, just like that, the South Koreans pulled off one of the biggest surprises of this upset-filled World Cup, a 2-1 overtime victory Tuesday that put them in the quarterfinals and thrilled an entire nation.>> so their market is getting slammed for another reason, i know not what.

Korea-Italy WC'02 is one of all-time classic match. I watched it again last night. Koreans were so fit in the entire match. They just out ran the italians. What a match! Love it!
