I believe the wrestle over the debt ceiling, the hidden cost of last 9 months government actions, the weak economic reports, the distrust of numbers from the mouths of CEOs are doing more to keep the mkt down, than the terrorism.

At this point, they could aggravate the mkt situation, but the real causes at the moment seem more based on govt and the corporations than on terrorist fears.
