One is the left-right distinction thrown across all political differences--just doesn't work that well; and, second, the politicization of everything (health care, education, etc.) I have to live with both; but I don't have to like both.

I agree with Bill....I'm not sure how you would separate the two. Your viewpoint is going to flow inexorably from your overall philosophical stance. A liberatarian isnt looking to enhance the greatest good. A liberal isnt looking to preserve each and every single right for the individual (in this case, doctors and those who can afford better healthcare).
