Reminds me of my first trip to the Eastern Bloc after it opened up. I walked around Warsaw looking at ugly concrete apartment buildings - very depressing.

But at least they were all the same, very fair to all.

What???
The intrinsic nature of competition is not that it's unfair, not at all. That's a bastardized interpretation bourne of living in this kind of culture. Competition, in the true spirit of the word and it's intent, is to measure ability between different parties on an even playing field. Competition, specifically in an unchecked capitalistic framework, is where you find intrinsic 'unfairness'.
