This has been tried. Not by kholt but others. You may recall the kissy kissy thread. Usually when these folks find themselves alone together for too long the idea dies out. They thrive on reactionary episodes. It appears to be working itself out here though not a moderated thread. kholt wants a place to visit with some entities that...well, ...have issues which seem too irrational for the typical poster to just step over, ignore, work around or what ever. kholt has her own reasons for wanting to sponsor, include, support, bolster or whatever these entities on threads where normally rational debates, discussions, arguments, and such become side tracked on these issues. She is philosophically opposed to exclusion and yet through her insistance on this practice the discussion reverts to the limitation of just these entities and her. Since this thread is not a moderated thread it may yet recover another round of "react to me please, not that I care."

Have you noticed that in spite of everyone's claims that they are tired of this war and want it to end, they refuse to stay away from it?

I've noticed that. I recall back when this started there was a move to shun, which I thought was a good idea, but for some reason it couldn't be implemented. At that point, it was already doomed--all over but the shouting, as they say, and what a lot of shouting.

I managed to stay out of it until very near the end, or what I hope is the end, but here I am with the rest of the compulsives. It's humbling. And the phenomenon of moths to a flame remains fascinating. Personally, I'm spent. I don't know how those who have been so engaged in this from the beginning could have any gas left in their tanks.

I just got back from the pool. It was pretty quiet, just me swimming laps and four boys maybe twelve years old playing a game that involved gaining possession of a toy fish. I was stroking along when my reverie was interrupted by a commotion. Two of the boys were splashing around and yelling and the lifeguard was shouting at them. One boy kept telling her that the other boy had done something wrong that deserved punishment. She kept saying that they both needed to cut it out. This went back and forth three or four times and then it was over and I went back to my laps. But my reverie was over for the duration. LOL. Can't even get away from SI at the pool.
