Great Danes are WONDERFUL DOGGIES! My aunt used to raise them for show, so I've had a few as friends over the years.

They do so have other redeeming values. For example, they scare the heck out of burglars, but are great with kids. Plus, they make excellent foot rests and couch warmers. (:

I've got a couple of German Mastiffs (Great Danes). Pure eye candy, with no other redeeming values

Come on Doug, I've had the pleasure of befriending 2 Danes in my life and they had lots of redeeming qualities. Besides looking real scary and chasing off that annoying door-to-door salesperson, extreme loyalty, devotion to family and good with kids come to mind (they don't call them "gentle giants" for nothing). My Boston is the best, but the slobbering is a bit much at times (LOL) Mike
