<asked him if their land and buildings were worth more or less than what they carried on the balance sheet, and he said several dollars per share more. >

I asked and got the same info. Land was carried of course at cost, not market value. Buildings etc. were 1/2 depreciated and thus far below market value.

<scanned the VLSI thread today and saw that you used to post there. That must be where I saw you. I'm just curious, how did you end up posting on this thread? With your experience and level head, we are definitely glad to have you here! Do you know Jim Bertonis? I used to communicate with him frequently about VLSI and was just wondering how he is...Also Tom Veale and Linda Kaplan. >

Probably thru Larry or Ed and some similar investments ideas or objectives. Plus the stock specific threads on SI are dead and you guys seem like the only sane posters left.

Tom Veale is still around. His AIM methods should serve any new investor well from this point forward. As Tom says "Buy from the scared, sell to the greedy".

Bertonis and Kaplan rarely post anymore. Probably made so much they retired. I hope.

Sadly SI is going dead. A lot of the helpful knowledgeable level headed people have left and SI is dominated by live for the second traders. Real tangible product information and financial analysis discussion is suffering.
