Hey Dan, This is just "semantics" While AMD is below book value, I wouldn't go as far as saying that AMD is "well" below book value. AMD's book value is ~9.67

The company most like Intel, and its closest (some say only) competitor is presently well below book and continuing down.

The major difference between INTC and "its closest (some say only) competitor" is INTC is making money and "its closest (some say only) competitor" isn't... As losses mount, book value can change rapidly...
