We have peculiar tendrils, too. More interesting on N's side than on mine, though that may be because he's got a sister in law who's an avid genealogist.

N's side of the family is related to the creator of Krazy Kat, a major comic strip of the 20's and 30's. The artist's last name was Hermann, don't remember his first name.

N's sister in law has also figured out that on the other side of N's family, they are very distantly related to... Dan Quayle~!

She enjoys greatly mentioning this.

Another of her discoveries is that a branch of his family were actual pirates, operating under Letters of Marque, under the aegis of the King of France.

There's much more, and more florid, on his side. We're talking mini-series quality drama, lol!

N is also connected to a man in VA who revolutionized the making of cane chair seats. I'm so proud.
