I know. We can see it on local TV here in SA.

>The gal accused of starting the forest fire - is a member of the FOREST SERVICE!

Indeed. But, even curiouser, she apparently started the fire by burning a letter in a proper fireplace for making fires. How the fire jumped out from that into the forest is very strange. Anyway, now she's pleading that she didn't do it.

>US Forest Service has been taken over by border-line environmental extremists.

That's obvious. In fact I don't think they're "border-line" --- more likely they're the kind of people frequently called, "bunny-huggers". It's also clear they haven't any practical ability in fire-fighting. In fact, they are a danger to society because, as far as they are concerned, animals and plants have greater "rights" than humans.

On a serious note, I think it is very worrying and indeed frightening how, every year, there are major forest fires over half of the US. It strikes me that something is very wrong if such extensive fire hazards exist across the country without anything preventive being done about it. In fact, I would go so far as saying that the threat to life and property from fires, like the ones we are witnessing, is umpteen times greater than from "terrorism".
