Lorne, Hannan Ashrawi and her folks who have put out an appeal did so not because of the IDF. They did so because of the peace plan that is in front of the world put forth by Saudi Arabia. Besides they realize that the US does back their request for a state. This is evidenced by Israel not being allowed to kill Arafat not deport him. This respect for Arafat's life is the driver for Hannan. I see her appeal to her people as something they do not need to indulge in. All it says is stop the eye-for-an-eye approach. The Israelis roll their tanks and their violence is matched in kind by the violence of the suicide bombers. That is what she has appealed against. Not to stop because the Palestenians are beaten down?

Lorne, you said As for getting back to me about the kabba...You said in a past post that you had to talk to your muslim riends..Why? why can't you decide for yourself what is right. You have said that you are not a muslim so therefore you should be capable of at least some FREE thought. Why do you need muslims to think for you....Which side of the fence do you think they will come down on? Lorne, my Muslim friends are liberal friends since they continue to consider themselves as Muslims even though they do things that Mohammed said they are not supposed to do. They do so because they believe that some of the things he said were relevant then and are no longer relevant now. Example eating pork, putting aside everything at the time of prayer 6 times a day etc. etc. Did you think that I would have Taliban friends? Ididn't say Muslim fundamentalist friends. So we talk and make informed opinions. We accept that not everything in any religion is relevant today than when they were founded.
