Does one now expect gold to confirm this event? I tried to trade my imaginary contest gold stocks out of the drop today but I'll be lucky if I break even. The trades go over 1/2 hour after the trade is made and it seems on these type of days that one needs to sell early! I had to scramble to get back in with losses on two stock situations but had enough luck to catch two others near a day low. Temporarily touching DROOY didn't help either. You live by the volatility you die by it.

Here's a pattern I've seen many times when gold is up say $2 overnight. Gold stocks respond with 5% gains almost across the board first hour of trading. Gold stocks hold gains till 11:00 Eastern. Gold stocks flop over the noon hour, rebound a little afterwards, push back down one more time, and finish the day on the average unchanged to up a tad.
