You can count on me to disregard Johnson's posts. Quite annoying! We need investment info, not bitching.

Zeev:

I have had Johnsom on ignore for a long time. Perhaps others should do the same.

"THE BOTTOM"

Here most of us on this thread sit, waiting for the climactic bottom that the Turnips are suggesting as a possibility somewhat south of here.

I keep coming back to your word "relentless". It feels to me that rather than having a great fear-inducing day (which many people are actually looking forward to as the "medicine" that will restore the market to its "bull-health", that instead the market will GRIND its way down some more, accommodate a minor-league rally to stir up SOME hope and allow some more distribution, then RELENTLESSLY move downwards once more.

Why this?

-- the Dow has to drop too far to accommodate it in just a few days of climactic event

-- too many people are expecting the climactic event and would step aside and watch instead of just dumping, which a climactic day would require.

In such a scenario, as others have suggested, the relentless nature of the GRINDING DOWN move would just take all HOPE out of the market until the valuations are at a point that they can be justified relative to the generally pitiful earnings that are occuring.

Were this to occur, the final bottom would probably look not
that much different from many other days on which a drop occurred, with a substantial recovery, but likely with more CONVICTION in the volume category.

I am a rank amateur alongside you, but perhaps you would be prepared to consult the Turnips relative to this scenario as opposed to "climactic".

Again many thanks for your enormous contributions to all of us.

Namaste!

Jim

Zeev:

I have a better idea. Let's encourage Mark to post his trades,..... including timing in and out as well as reasons for same. Or failing that, post up his portfolio (a la LLCF who does this over on the CFZ thread). If he does this and can show decent results, then his critical remarks might have a bit more impact.

What about it Mark,.... care to put on the skates and come on out onto the ice surface? Critical remarks from the stands don't have near the impact as scoring goals from right wing.

Best, Earlie
