RtS/Dick,

The market is "reeking" with bearishness - you can smell it coming out of the display on my computer.<g> It is really painful to wait around for the final "plunge" before capitulation day arrives and I think our waiting days are close to being over. At least we should get a good intermediate bottom so we can have a rally of some substance for the next several weeks or months.

The MU report tonight should give further impetus towards finding a bottom. I have said it before, and I'll say it again, I would love to see a reversal day like 8 October 1998. We had "liftoff" from there.

Right now, the market is throwing the "baby out with the bath water". There are some strong companies out there that are getting "hammered" and they are getting down to levels where they will double or triple in the upcoming recovery.

If we get a "reversal" day like 8 October 1998 it will be relatively easy to spot. What I am afraid of is getting a reversal day that is rather mundane. Then we will be sitting around, waiting for more downside that never happens, and while we were waiting around, a nice 15 to 20 percent upward movement has already occurred. We can still make good money, but the "real good" money is made by buying at the bottom. It will be interesting to see how close we can come to that ideal action.
