I sorry:

<<Two. What is the legal "moat" that protects the technology? Is the protected tech in what I call the "repeater"? Is Vista BB merely a Mot reseller? Is Mot itself better protected? "

I have no idea whatsoever what you are talking about. >>

What I meant was that no matter how good the tech is, if it can't be protected, then the company will never make any money. It will make a good charitable contribution, but if the ease of entry into their market space has no obstacle, then they may end up perfecting a great tech which some one else will just take.

But you may have intended this as pure research, if you did then I appologize.

What I meant by the use of the term, "repeater" is that the antenna or dish that each user puts on their roof has two functions, one it receives the signal for use by that person and two it retransmitts to the next "repeater" that the next user has. This hip hop is how the distance limitations are overcome, for mass transmission.

But i am not a sci guy so most of this is just speculation that I am looking to confirm or not.
